Somerset inspiration

A few times a year I get away with my family to Exmoor. This is time away from the studio and mural painting.. a place of peace to re charge and be in nature. We do a lot of walking and my boys when little would play in the river (sometimes they still do!)

There is always so much wildlife to pick, paint and observe.. sometimes I take cuttings such as Rosebay Willow Herb, bracken, wild heather or gorse or just lots of foliage and lambs head leaves..

This all goes into my head, onto paper and ultimately finds its way in some form abstracted or not onto a canvas. At the moment I am fascinated by the sap green of the leaves this summer.
